Behind the scenes.

On August 20th, 2023, in a beautiful garden in the sweltering heat, Keshawn proposed to Kimmee. She was absolutely oblivious, thinking we were only there for a “final summer video project” that I was doing.

A Garden Romance Story is about a woman who meets a stranger in a garden. It is about the pursuit that occurs when someone realizes they love someone else. Through the recurring action of the giving of flowers, the film demonstrates the dedication and loveliness of their relationship.

I put a lot of effort into the brainstorming process of the project because I wanted the story to be tailored to their relationship. I knew how important it was to Keshawn, and I wanted to do the day justice. The day turned out to be quite hot, but my “actors” stuck with it and offered great performances. My sister’s reaction to the final scene was well worth the time spent planning.

Post production went smoothly since the scenes were pretty much shot in sequence. I carefully crafted the edit to flow as visually enticing as possible. I did some color work in Adobe Premiere, as I had recently learned some skills. Finishing the video proved to be so impactful for friends and family who could not be there for the proposal. Overall, the entire process was enjoyable and I loved capturing a video that could tell the story of Kimmee and Keshawn’s love.
